Autumnal greetings, 24hourlondoners.

We've been really busy for the last 18 months building some groundbreaking advertising technology, which has turned out to be a much bigger deal than we anticipated. "I can't see how you're doing this," said Jason Berryman of Google when he looked at it. Oh, how we smirked. (But in a delighted, rather than an annoying way, obviously.)

And now we need to pilot this adware, in order to get some nice quotes from participating businesses to put on our forthcoming media kit. A media kit, I recently learned, is something that you need to have if you're hoping to attract paying customers. Who knew? Some of you, I'm sure. In fact, if you work in advertising – or if anyone you know does – and you or they may be interested in joining us, please get in touch. Having a network involving media planners and buyers would be a plus.

So the time has come for you to check out our first ten proper offers, added using our new geofencing tech! Seven of them are in and around Mile End, in east London, and Queen Mary UCL for practical reasons – but we're intending to move outwards from here. We may be called 24hourlondon but our tech works globally.

You can avail yourself of free pastries from The Coffee Room on Grove Road and The Bakery Room on Roman Road, 25% off drinks at The Morgan Arms when you show the voucher, or a free coffee at the Genesis cinema. Other participating businesses include Crate brewery and The White Building in Hackney Wick, Snap cards on Roman Road – where you can get a free greetings card up to the value of £3 with any purchase – The Pizza Room, where you can get a cut-price vegan pizza, and three Lucky Voice venues in Islington, Soho and Holborn, to which you can venture cheaply on a Monday night if you love karaoke.

Best of all, if you've accepted all our permissions requests you'll get a reminder notification when you walk within 200m of one of our promotions. And I ask you: what's better than a surprise free pastry? (Rhetoric, folks.)

There will be more offers and promotions along shortly, all designed to entice you over the thresholds of these local London businesses, so keep an eye on our updates. And then please use them!

If you know a retail business anywhere in London that would like to join our pilot for free, send them our way. I'm on

24hourlondon is still answering the question: what's open late near you? But now we've got free stuff for you too. Check out our Offers map for details.

You're welcome.

we to talk about late nights!
